Michel Nafziger : Revelations

Photographer Michel Nafziger envisions the female nude as a revelation. A revelation of the form and raw emotion, momentary and spontaneous, yet captured cautiously through prolonged exposure. The body’s graceful movement - echoing the refined classicism of Venus and the Odalisque, of Velasquez and Ingres - is enhanced by a photographic technique invoking, in its subtlety and seduction, the modernist opacity of Modigliani’s nudes. Nafziger’s first solo show in New York, featuring large-scale prints and an edition of portfolios, is a masterful revelation of his unique sensibility, at once strikingly classical and modern.
